How Does Foreign Currency Converter into Your Home Currency Work?

170 World Currencies

kopilot retrieves, in real-time, exchange rate data for 170 world currencies.

Exchange rates are updated every 60 seconds.

Our Conversion Framework

kopilot converts all foreign amounts into your home currency on the transaction's issue date. To be exhaustive, we use the End-Of-Day mid-market exchange rate. There are two notable exceptions :the issue date is in the future; today is the issue date.

The issue date is in the past

kopilot converts the foreign amount into your home currency with the official exchange rate set for the issue date.

The issue date is today

Two conversions are involved:

  1. today: the foreign amount is converted with the spot (or the latest available) exchange rate.
  2. tomorrow: the amount is updated with the official End-of-Day exchange rate. The API kopilot uses generally releases End-Of-Day exchange rates at 00:05 am GMT for the previous day.

The issue date is in the future

Again, kopilot converts multiple times the foreign amount into your home currency.

  1. when the transaction is created: the foreign amount is converted into home currency with the spot (or the latest available) exchange rate based on the transaction creation date.
  2. on the issue date: the foreign amount is converted with the spot (or the latest available) exchange rate.
  3. on the day after issue date: the amount is updated with the official End-of-Day exchange rate. The API kopilot uses generally releases End-Of-Day exchange rates at 00:05 am GMT for the previous day.
